Connecting your channels
What to do when WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger or the website chat won't connect, or stops working after.
Your Facebook account is in the business portfolio that owns the number, but without full control of its WhatsApp account. Meta lets Warid read the number but not receive its messages.
- 1Ask an admin of that business portfolio to open Business Settings.
- 2Under Users → People, pick your name and press Assign assets.
- 3Choose WhatsApp accounts, pick the account, turn on Full control and save.
- 4Connect WhatsApp in Warid again.
Or let the admin connect it to Warid from their own Facebook account.

A number that’s signed in to the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app can’t be added. On that phone, open WhatsApp → Settings → Account → Delete my account, wait a few minutes, then connect it in Warid. Chats on the phone don’t move over, so back them up first if you need them.

Meta sends the code by text or phone call. If the text doesn’t come, go back and pick the phone call. Landlines can only get the call. After a few tries Meta makes you wait, so try again a few hours later.
Meta saves each step as you go, so a signup you didn’t finish can leave a WhatsApp account with no number. It costs nothing. Next time, pick that same account in Facebook’s window instead of making a new one, then add the number to it.
Meta bills WhatsApp templates to your business directly, so it needs a payment method on your WhatsApp account. If Warid shows the payment card on Channels, press it, add a card in Meta’s billing page, then press Check again. Replies inside a chat don’t need it.

Instagram and Messenger
Meta is still reviewing Warid’s Instagram and Messenger access. Until it’s approved, only accounts we’ve added can connect. Email support@warid.chat with a link to your Facebook profile. We’ll send you an invite to accept, then you can connect.
Warid reaches Instagram through a Facebook Page, so the account needs two things.
- 1It’s a professional account. In Instagram open Settings → Account type and tools and switch to a business or creator account.
- 2It’s linked to a Facebook Page you manage. In Instagram open Edit profile → Page and connect the Page.
- 3Connect Instagram in Warid again.

Log in with the Facebook account that’s an admin of the Page (with full control). If the Page belongs to a business portfolio, an admin there can give you access under Business Settings → Accounts → Pages.
Open Business SettingsIn the Instagram app open Settings → Messages and story replies → Message controls, and turn on Allow access to messages under Connected tools. While Meta’s review is going on, messages also arrive only for accounts we’ve added, so email us if some still don’t come.

When you start a chat from the Instagram app, Meta doesn’t share the person’s name until they write back to you. The name shows up on its own once they reply.
On a phone
The Facebook app can grab the login link and drop it. Try again in your phone’s browser. If it still stalls, on Android open Settings → Apps → Facebook → Open by default and turn off Open supported links, or connect from a computer instead.

After connecting
Meta stopped letting Warid use it. This happens when someone changes the Facebook password, leaves the Page or portfolio, or removes Warid in Business integrations. Press Reconnect on Channels and log in with an account that manages it. The chats stay where they are.
A number, Page or Instagram account can be in one Warid workspace at a time. Disconnect it in the other workspace first, or ask that workspace’s owner to.
Disconnect stops new messages and keeps the channel and its chats, so you can read them and connect again later where you left off. Delete only shows after you disconnect, and removes the channel and all its chats for good.
WhatsApp only lets businesses write freely within 24 hours of the customer’s last message. After that, send an approved template. When they reply, the chat opens again.
Only owners and admins of a workspace can connect channels. Ask one of them to connect it, or to change your role under Account → Members.
