WhatsApp OTP
Send verification codes on WhatsApp.
Your customers already have WhatsApp open. Warid makes the code, sends it with your authentication template and its Copy code button, and checks it when they type it back. Two API calls, and nothing to store on your side.
482913 is your verification code. For your security, do not share this code.
What you get
Sign-in codes without the extra work
Two API calls
POST /api/v1/otp sends the code and POST /api/v1/otp/verify checks it. That's the whole integration.
A Copy code button
Codes go out with your approved authentication template, so customers copy them with one tap.
Your rules
Choose 4 to 8 digits and how long the code works, up to 30 minutes. The default is 6 digits for 10 minutes.
Safe by default
Only a keyed hash of each code is stored. A new code cancels the previous one, and wrong tries stop at five.
Limits against abuse
A phone number can get a new code every 30 seconds, and no more than five codes an hour.
From the number they know
Codes come from the same WhatsApp number you already use with your customers.
How it works
Up and running in three steps
- 1
Get a template approved
Create an authentication template in Warid and send it to Meta for review.
- 2
Create an API key
Make a key in the dashboard, or use the app you've connected to Warid.
- 3
Send and verify
Call /otp when the customer signs in and /otp/verify when they type the code.
